2 Map for signage Floyds Lane/Mortar Cottage for presentation to Parish Council for approval and costing – This item included discussion on signage re HGVs accessing narrow village lanes. PC confirmed that a permanent sign exists at the junction of Floyds Lane and Ledbury Road “Unsuitable for HGVs”. Further signs are needed at the junctions of The Common/Raycomb Lane and Horse Road/Beggars Ash. PC will produce a map to indicate positioning of the signs. Example signs and prices were viewed. Agreed that the Parish Council would have to place orders for signage and the Parish Lengthsman could be asked to install them. The signs should be on private land and will not require Road Traffic Orders.

3 Parish Survey – PC had made available the feedback from the Parish Meeting. CD raised the need to conduct the parish survey of road safety issues before making further decisions on actions. Agreed PC and CD would draft a survey form for circulation to the Committee prior to printing for distribution with the next Parish Newsletter. Early feedback would be helpful prior to the next meeting so further iterations of the survey form can be drafted. Agreed that names and addresses would be requested on survey forms. The survey should have a section for Staplow. Agreed the Committee to meet 27 June at the Farmers Arms to finalise the survey form.

Survey forms to be made available on the Village Website and/or Wellington Heath Noticeboard. Boxes for returning forms could be placed at The Oak Inn, Staplow and The Farmers Arms (now confirmed by both pub landlords); also at the Memorial Hall.

4 Community Speed Watch – PD advised that the Parish Council has to approach Herefordshire Council (HCC)/Police for the scheme to be implemented. PD to forward email from HCC to SL if it is still available. PD and SG to further investigate the scheme.

SG raised the possibility of installing a traffic speed monitor device in Staplow on the B4214 Bromyard Road and organising a fund raising bid. Further investigation and costings would be required via HCC. SG also requested investigation of a reduction in the speed limit on the B4214 from 40 to 30mph through Staplow. This may need traffic speed monitoring by HCC.
